Program Details

Innovation in Medicine | West

Description

SE is proud to offer our groundbreaking Innovation in Medicine Program on both the East and West Coasts of the United States. Our Silicon Valley program’s main objective is to provide students a broad exposure to various aspects of medicine and health care at some of the best institutions in the world. We aim to ensure that every student comes back inspired to learn, explore and achieve.

While attending this program, students will engage directly with leaders in the medical field, including professors, doctors and researchers at Stanford, Berkeley, and UCSF. They will develop their own projects in a medical innovation lab and learn from engineers and others in the converging fields of bio-tech and medicine. Since the Bay Area is home to hundreds of cutting-edge companies and several of the finest education institutions, students will tour hospitals, universities, and thriving businesses to round out their medical exposure. Participants will also be provided the opportunity for peer to peer exchanges and will explore some of  the most iconic places in the greater Bay Area, including San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Pacific Ocean, Redwood Forests etc.

Similar in scope and purpose to SE’s Silicon Valley: Innovation in Medicine Program is our East Coast Innovation Series. This program is based in Boston, Massachusetts and will bring students to the most prestigious and innovative educational institutions in the region such as Harvard, Boston University, and MIT. However this program differs in that there is much more direct hands on opportunities such as: ER simulation lab, suture and ultrasound practices. It also provides exposure to New England's biotech and medical innovation companies, which continue to produce outstanding results. Opportunities to visit historic sites and tourist destinations will also be available for visiting students.

All high schoolers with an interest in medicine, as a doctor, researcher, or healthcare entrepreneur should apply for this unique, college resume building and FUN program!
