Join for a COSTA RICAN Scientific Adventure!

8 Days / 7 Nights

This Scholastic Expeditions program visits two Costa Rican regions, allowing students the opportunity to fully immerse into field projects for a more enriching conservation and ecological experience.  Trek through exotic forests full of wildlife and waterfalls. Participate in sea turtle beach patrols and research on a beautiful Costa Rican shore. Enjoy zip lining and surf lessons with expert instructors in one of the world’s premier surfing sites!

Sea Turtle Project:  Students will have hands-on conservation biology experiences, working side-by-side with project researchers to improve sea turtles nesting and hatching success. Their efforts will impact these endangered sea-faring creatures in a real way as research is shared via our partner organization, WIDECAST/LAST, which participates as one of the members of the Sea Turtle World Congress.

Forest Ecology:  Through our partnership with Fundacion Nubotropica, a foundation created by the community to promote the conservation and sustainable development of the region, students will do forest research andlearn about biodiversity conservation, water shed protection and wood yields.
